Objectives of this course

On completion of this CPD activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Define technical terms commonly used in conjunction with artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Describe the core ethical principles governing AI use in healthcare, including disclosure, accountability, transparency, and safety and quality of care.
  • Identify the legal and regulatory requirements related to AI use in South Africa.
  • Describe the opportunities that AI presents for healthcare service delivery.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with AI in healthcare and apply strategies to minimise harm.
