- Activity Programming in Care Facilities
- Activity Selection relating to the clients needs and presentation at each stage in the progression of Dementia.
Recorded Case study and Q&A Webinar – 1 CEU
1 Hour.
This is a recording of the Zoom Case Study and Q&A session in which Sylvia presents a case and hosts discussion of suitable activities and treatment focus through the stages of the client’s Dementia. Discussion and questions enrich this session.

Sylvia Birkhead (M.OT) has over 40 years of experience as an occupational therapist. She has consulted to many NGOs (MS Society, Headway, Parkinson’s Association, Stroke Aid, and many more), worked clinically, lectured at WITS, provided training to professionals, care workers and the general public. In the last 10 years, Sylvia has specialised in gerontology and geriatric care, incorporating sensory stimulation into practice. Sylvia has published chapters in various books, articles in SAJOT and Focus, The Child magazine, Discovery Health newsletter, Rolling Inspiration and various other publications. She was awarded the Albie Sachs award in 2004.
This course has been accredited in 2026 by the OT Professional Body in the Advanced Band of the Geriatrics Taxonomy and can be used to submit in your portfolio for your personal accreditation with the Professional Body.
