Dr Niki Floudiotis is a neurologist and clinical researcher with a special interest in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and inherited neuromuscular disorders. She currently serves as a neurology researcher at the University of Cape Town’s Division of Neurology, where her work contributes to international collaborative projects such as CReATe and the ALS Africa Network.
With a strong foundation in both clinical and academic neurology, Dr Floudiotis completed her specialist training in neurology through the Colleges of Medicine South Africa in 2021 and earned her MMed in Neurology from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2023. Her published research explores ALS and genetic neuromuscular conditions in African populations, helping to shape local understanding of these complex disorders.
Dr Floudiotis brings to this session a deep commitment to interdisciplinary care and an ability to bridge complex medical knowledge with practical application for rehabilitation professionals.
